Llanes, President, Philippine Guidance and Counseling Association, Inc. and Professional Regulation Commission consultant, speaking before an audience of 142 elementary and high school guidance counselors at the free Symposium on “Updates on the Licensure Examination for Guidance Counselors” at the UE Conference Hall, April 18. Dr. Llanes updated the audience and clarified points regarding the upcoming first ever Guidance Counselors’ Licensure Examination on August 21-22. Dr. Llanes and UE’s Guidance Coordinator Ma. Leonila Vitug-Urrea are among the 154 first registered guidance counselors in the country under Rule III, Section 14, RA 9258, the 2004 Guidance and Counseling Act. On its second year of conduct, the symposium is a joint undertaking of the UE Guidance Offices and the UE Marketing Department, aimed to prepare guidance counselors for the licensure examination. Former PRC Chairperson and currently UE Manila Chancellor Antonieta F. Ibe gave the opening remarks while UE Marketing Dept. Executive Director Jesus T. Tanchanco Sr. presented the tokens of appreciation to Dr. Llanes and delivered the closing remarks.
